Okay, another Figma review, it will be focussing about Figma Kiritsugu Emiya. Kiritsugu is the main protagonist from a light novel Fate/Zero, is a prequel to TYPE-MOON’s visual novel Fate/stay night. It is a novel written by Gen Urobuchi with illustrations by Takashi Takeuchi. Kiritsugu is the Master of Saber in the Fourth Holy Grail War of Fate/Zero. He is the husband of Irisviel von Einzbern, the father of Illyasviel von Einzbern, and the adoptive father of Shirou Emiya. He has a minor role in Fate/stay night and is the main protagonist of Fate/Zero. He was a freelancer and notoriously known as the Magus Killer. The Figma box was colored mostly in black with dull brown, also with some purple shade & it has some kind of forest illustrations for the motives. The Figma font & the stripes was colored Purple. The series number is 151, a standard release. Kiritsugu comes up with a very-very cool stuffs.
2 extra face plates, a sets of Guns: Calico M950, Thompson Contender, & Walther WA2000 with 2 FX, 4 Cigarettes, an Optional Lower Arms for shoving his hands into the jacket’s pockets, Stand Set, & extra Interchangeable hand with extra 2 hand. Wicked & very cool!!
Kiritsugu’s appearance mostly has Black from his hair, suit, jacket, pants, & tie. Excluding his shirt is Black to Grayish, & Dark Brown colored shoes. No no… No mentioning figma panties in this review, because Kiritsugu is a men! The material of his lower suit is made from a soft material, so it won’t be a bothersome if you want to bend his legs.
Kiritsugu’s headsculpt is pretty so so in my opinion but pretty suits for his style. He’s given 3 face expressions: a calm expression with the cigarette in his mouth & his eyes are looking to the left, a serious expression for combat with his eyes looking to the right, and the smiling face he rarely shows. The calm one seems pretty standard but suits for his style, in this face there’s a slot on his mouth for inserting the cigarette into his mouth.. Well, not really cool for me, because I’m an anti-smoker here. the serious one is what I really need to create the action scenes, without this he feels lifeless during the scenes. The 3rd face actually gives me a creep if I don’t make a supporting scenes for it, his open mouth seems a bit weird for him. Each of his faces has a paint lines to show his eyes got a small wrinkles, except his 3rd face is more smoother than the rest, also there’s a painted shaven beard on his chin. Comparison to his anime is pretty different for me, specially his eyes, the shape of his face, & his hair… His eyes in the anime feels a little more slanting, the shape of his face feels more oval than the Figma, & his hair in the anime is more spiky. Well, it’s just me, I think….
Kiritsugu in the anime was depicted as a 34 years old man, pretty close as a middle aged person. However, on this Figma I’d pressumed he’s around 27 since he still a young looks. On his size he’s much taller than my other Figmas, even taller than my S.H.Figuarts collections. Each Kiritsugu’s lower jacket has an articulated joint, this will allow us to create his jacket waving & even making his legs move more vast during the action scenes. Unfortunately, mine one has a loose joint on his right lower one, whenever I want to create the pose sometimes his right lower jacket falls. The sculpt of his outfit is pretty outstanding for his size, the fold is quite nifty on the details. They didn’t even missed the jacket’s buttons & the button holes. The material of his tie, lower suit, & his vest is made soft, however the articulated lower jacket is made from a hard material. So, if GSC didn’t add the articulations, Kiritsugu would probably end up like Nozomi, which her legs appeared to be blocked by her hard made long skirt. Kiritsugu’s feets are pretty big, so he can balance without the stand. However, better becareful if you’re going to use his lower jacket. Sometimes, they can’t balance Kiritsugu pretty well. Both of his lower jacket got a pocket on it, & each got a slot to be inserted for his optional lower arms for shoving hands into the pockets.
4 cigarettes were given to him, but there’s only 2 variant shape.. 2 for chewing on the calm expression & 2 other for holding the cigars. DAMN! This things are too microscopic as hell! I almost lost one of them during inserting to the hand/mouth, this is quite a troublesome to handle… I won’t gonna use it again & as for calm face, I’ll do the photoshop instead.
Most of his accessories are warfare stuffs… He comes with a variety of weapons he used in the Holy Grail War, including the Calico M950, Thompson Contender, & Walther WA 2000. NAISU & COOL!! This is what I’m talking about the action figure have to be… Now, my Figma collections can do an action packed with lots of GUNSSSS!! Each guns was sculpted quite fine & was included a lifeless FXs… According to the 1st picture that I took, Calico comes with it’s own FX while Thompson & Walther shares together with the other 1 FX, because each FX has their own slot’s size. Interestingly, Thompson Contender has a hinge joint which allow you to open his bullet filler.
A poseable figma stand is included, which allows various poses to be taken. Not much to say…
Kiritsugu’s default hand part was a pair of outstreched wide open palm parts, the extras are a pair of fistful hand, a pair of holding hand parts, a pair of holding hand with trigger pull for his Calico M950 & Thompson Contender, 2 variant hand to hold his Walther WA2000 (right to hold the trigger & left to hold the trunk), a single right hand for holding the cigarette part, & a single left hand holding a Thompson Contender bullet. All of Kiritsugu’s right hand has his trademark red blood Command Seal which printed pretty nice even has a little details on them. For sure, most of his hands were used for a combat actions, a single left hand which holding the bullet was meant to create one of his most famous scenes where he’s doing a reload moment. & the single right hand had a slot to insert his microscopic cigarette. He is also given a pair of extra lower arms to make a scene where he put his hand in the pocket. Nice features, I guess Kiritsugu got his styles pretty much outstanding like how though guy should be.
In height comparison, Kiritsugu is taller & bigger than BLACK… Of course, most of S.H.Figuarts are mostly at the same height of Figma girls.. But, his height was actually suit enough to be paired with figma girls, with his height we can tell the difference between how men & women should looks. Which means, BLACK & my other S.H.Figuarts collections are shorter than most of male Figma. However, atleast they’re still slightly taller than figma girls….
Well, there goes nothing… On the begining before getting him I was actually dilemma for choosing him or Mikuru Cheerleader Ver. So I asked my friends & most of them suggested me to get him, because he’s cool, badass & has tons of fun accessories. Yes, yes, I definitely know about that, but I was confused choosing which one is the hard one to look at.. Still, Kiritsugu won so I ended get ahold him. Kiritsugu is my very 1st owned male Figma, & I’m happy to take a photoshoots of him. Yes, I definitely agreed with most people described about him, before I bought him. As a result, I made a lot of action packed photoshoots on him & I don’t regret myself on getting him. Worth to have? YES!! He has lots of fun stuff for you to do many kind of action pose, being a cool & badass style though guy.. That is Kiritsugu Emiya!!
Pros: The soft made vest of his jacket has a very nice feature, we can even create a pose where Kiritsugu reveal his gun from his pocket. The articulations on his lower jacket is pretty helpful during creating many pose, I’m not having trouble at all during handling him. Except, mine one on the right is easy to loose. Unlike Inori one Kiritsugu’s holding hand with trigger pull aren’t made stick to his thumb, it’ll make me more easy to insert the guns to his hand.
Cons: By far, for me… Despite worth to have, there’s something that bothers me alot about him… Although, this cannot be considered as problem, but the cigarette should be better glued/stick to his mouth or hand rather than separating them due to their microscopic size. I hardly made it to insert them, even my smallest hands still hard to hold that cigarettes & thanks for that, I almost lost them… I think I have to agree on other reviewer’s said about it, you should glued the cigarette to his faceplate & hand. The last & probably just me, my Kiritsugu got a several problem of a loose part on his right lower jacket & his head fringe….
