After the Renewal of BLACK RX & Acrobatter… S.H.Figuarts Road Sector is here to review!! The Road Sector is a motorcycle created by Yoichi Daimon for Gorgom. The Road Sector is a prototype made with the intention of making it a mass-produced vehicle for their mutant soldiers, but instead it became Kamen Rider BLACK’s second Rider Machine. The Road Sector has a special function called the Attack Shield that shields the rider from harm. In this mode, the Road Sector can perform its special ramming maneuver, the Sparkling Attack. After the final battle against Gorgom, the machine was abandoned and presumably scrapped after Kotaro had left for parts unknown or there might be a rumour the Road Sector’s parts was used to create Ridron machine, which may explained why the machine doesn’t make any appearance in Kamen Rider BLACK RX. But, none of this was shown in the series so, the machine’s whereabout remains unknown. Road Sector was another Exclusive release from Bandai, so Road Sector was packaged with extra brown case & again comes with blind box showing only boxart of BLACK posing with Road Sector on the front, while the back mostly shown another boxart photos & explanations. The overall box was colored light gray to dark gray, it also has some red & white color mostly for the fonts & the boxart on the front box.
Out from the box, the Road Sector was already in it’s Attack Shield mode attached while the rests has 1 wheel display stand, extra pair Handlebars, & alternate Attack Shield box. But, one more thing…
Why in the world RX Renewal’s Instruction Manual was included in my Road Sector’s box?! Boy, Bandai missput this to my Road Sector but, atleast there’s no missing parts from the contents.
Being the secondary machine for BLACK, the Road Sector has different chassis & was overally colored white with red, black, blue & yellow as it’s stripes, the chassis are mostly black with semi gloss black & silver color while the front wheel has some bronze color. Unlike the duo Hoppers, Road Sector doesn’t have antennas & it wasn’t build for riding a higher ground & hopping around, this was proven in episode 21 where BLACK tries to climb the cliffs using the Road Sector. The machine works more like a sport bike, it usually used for combat by ramming the enemy. The figure has black plastic made sidestand instead of diecast like the Battle Hopper & Acrobatter but, it can be assumed there’s still some diecast parts inside the body.
Unlike, Battle Hopper or Acrobatter, the Road Sector’s build which was made larger & bulkier simillar to Cyclone THE FIRST I had. Interestingly, it has rear-view mirror, which the duo Hoppers even Cyclone doesn’t have them. The articulations are working 2 wheels, spring on the back wheel, forks, & sidestand. The design is retro but, classic still owns! I’m loving how they made the details on the navigator systems, everything was painted smoothly, I didn’t spot any misspaint or anything. They really nailed it to replicate this like in the show.
To switch this part all you have to do is remove the Attack Shield mode box from the bottom of the bike & don’t forget that there’s another hole joint on the upper cockpit. After tooked off the box, you’ll have to take off the black thing on the box then, attach it onto the alternate Attack Shield box then attach them into the bottom & you’re done… But, be note that I learned this without seeing instruction manual so, if I missed something feel free to fix my way.
Like Battle Hopper & Acrobatter, the Road Sector also comes with wheel stand & the machine was included with extra handlebars. The accessories are pretty much simillar like Cyclone THE FIRST.
I have to admit it’s troublesome to make him sit properly, although the saddle is pretty long.. & in this mode you cannot bend his elbow joints freely.
Man… Very hard as hell recreating this pose… I always having trouble posing BLACK’s head in this mode, especially on his antennas. Because they always bend due to a small space on the cockpit, & antennas always stucks between the navigator… But, if you accidentally bend BLACK’s antennas you can still fix them back by yourself but, still… Handle carefully & avoid being breaking!! To make him posing like this is even harder than posing without Attack Shield….
Making Old BLACK rides Road Sector is much more easier than his Renewal counterpart but, yeah… Old BLACK didn’t looked good compare to the Renewal counterpart. Grasping hands borrowed from Old BLACK RX’s Revolcane’s holding hands, since they shared same molding.
GO! GO! LET’S GO!!
Once again… This is another one of a hell figure I love it very much, although making BLACK riding it was very hard & I didn’t make it to make a better pose than this… If you intend to collect Kamen Rider BLACK figures, then don’t forget this because it’ll be perfect for your collections! I highly recommends you if you’re an avid fan of Kamen Rider BLACK series. But, if you’re looking for a perfection, this isn’t a good choice as you’ll be having hard time posing BLACK riding the machine & it won’t manage to make him sit properly on the saddle while he’s gripping the handlebars. The Road Sector was currently still up sale in many stores with reasonable price but, it’s getting a bit expensive.
- Good sculpt work & paintjob.
- Close enough to the show counterpart.
- Can actually do a jumping scene, since it can balance the body with stand.
- Easy to handle.
- Little accessories but, it’s acceptable.
- The bike don’t fit enough when BLACK riding it.
- Ugly & plain looking box design.
- Being an Exclusive release.
