Here I go for another late review S.H.Figuarts figure, & once again featuring of my proudful childhood memories, Here comes S.H.Figuarts Bio Rider & MacJabber review! Bio Rider, known as the Prince of Nature and Prince of Anger, is Black RX’s high speed form manifested through rage. MacJabber is a living motorcycle & is the 3rd form of Acrobatter, it transformed when BLACK RX becomes Bio Rider. Okay, to review Bio Rider is another standard release, like all BLACK Renewal series & Robo Rider, the box was again designed like his predecessors release but, contrast to them which got overall dark coloring, Bio Rider’s box was colored bright gray with FX motives on it. Personally, seems plain for me because gray coloring is pretty common to most SHF release… Again, MacJabber got a different box design from the Rider, & once again blind box & the boxart design shown much like Road Sector & Roboizer. It’s another unfortunate that MacJabber was released as an exclusive release, & it gets a brown case as well… This time is different from Robo Rider, both of them are relatively splendid made. Bio Rider comes up with tons of accessories, while MacJabber comes with the exact accessories like Roboizer ones.
Bio comes with 10 hands & Bio Blade, while MacJabber comes with 1 Display Stand & a pair of grasping hand for Bio Rider.
Unlike Robo, Bio got an intense fabric details like BLACK Renewal series because he was designed to be much sleeker, with blue, silver, & slight red all over the body with black colored spandex-like & his insignia changed to R3 (which is sculpted & painted gold) and his Sunriser belt resembles a single King Stone belt. & his helmet was overall colored blue & silver with a red line & metallic green on the forhead. Bio is meant to become sleeker but, ironically the SHF looks bulkier than Robo Rider & even BLACK RX Renewal… Once again, Bio deserved another praise for the meticulous details, specially from the fabric details they did. Like the predecessors, Bio didn’t have any diecast material, so he’s light to hold.
Like the previous bikes, MacJabber also made to be closely accurate enough to the show counterpart however, it still has the same chassis as both Battle Hopper, Acrobatter, & Roboizer. MacJabber’s body was colored overally white, with black & red lines & also yellow painted R3 symbol. To be honest, I don’t really know much about MacJabber’s other ability besides running speed to the opponent because, it only appeared less than 30 seconds in 1 episode compare to Roboizer. Like Roboizer, it didn’t comes with joint connector for jumping scene (for Stage Act Vol. 04), so MacJabber doesn’t capable for riding a higher ground & hopping around, I think. MacJabber also appeared mostly in the opening intro of Kamen Rider BLACK RX but, only run on the flat ground. For sure, their minority appearance is very supportive to made them becoming exclusive release from Bandai Tamashii Nations.
Just like every SHF figures, they put up another intense details on Bio Rider’s helmet sculpt. The helmet was made very faithful to his real life helmet. However, the paintjob was slightly displeasing, as I found a paint bleeds on the left black lining on the back of the helmet & there’s a very slight paints off on the top of his nose, also the left side of the helmet’s seamlines got a weird white lining. Bio’s helmet didn’t appeared to be made glossy as his predecessors, & his antennas are also made from a hard thick plastic just like RX antennas. Unlike RX Renewal & Robo, his antennas aren’t movable, since they’re mold together with his head. I have to say, eventhough Bio got meticulous details on the helmet, for some reason Bio’s helmet feels standard & kinda meaningless compare to Robo one which got a red lines symbolized as Prince of Sadness… But, other than that, everything looks nice on him.
Bio has overall nice & bulked up proportions, He is also a mix between BLACK & BLACK RX Renewal, however he got a slight limit on the leg’s movements. His knee pad doesn’t seem to be removable since I did not experience any of them bounce off. Bio also got ankle wrists that are molded separately. The Sunriser belt contains 1 King Stone, resembles to BLACK’s King Stone belt. The interesting thing from Bio is he got a meticulous lining details on his back, feet, neck, & not forgetting that intense fabric details on his silver pads on his thighs, blue pads on his arms. His R3 symbol was sculpted on his right side of the chest & it was painted gold. Bio’s arms also got elbow pad just like RX & Robo but, it’s colored red & they won’t make the pad becoming an obstacles for his elbow articulations. The paintjob is looking good so far, although I still spotted a little paint transfer in some part. & I loved on how they did the red paint on the back of his legs.
We can even lift Bio’s waist joint up & down, when you lift them up we will be able to swivel his upper waist clockwise. But, Bio didn’t have a complex articulations on his head as Robo did… Thus making him became your average SHF figures but, there’s something unique that the shoulder pad got a very nice articulations compare to the predecessors. We can move up & down & also swivel them a little & the instruction’s said the shoulder pads are removable, funny that they didn’t add that instructions to Bio’s predecessors which their shoulder pads are also removable. OMG, dat visible joints on his stomach looked so creepy….
Like other SHF figures, Bio got movable head that can be rotate it 180 degrees & bend down. Shockingly, he couldn’t bend his waist joint to the back much compare to Robo.
Bio’s waist can be swivelled 180 degrees & we can also bend his chest to the side a little, & again… Not really something…
If his predecessors got upper bicep cut joints, so Bio too & creating crossed arm pose is a piece of cake. Bio also got butterfly joints so, we can make him do close hug arms.
Bio can create dynamic posing much easier & vast. Knee joints looks very hideable, maybe that black colored spandex of him really helped them to make the joints less visible? Elbow articulations also works the same like other SHF & contrast to Robo, he could bend his feet deeper. We can also bend his chest to the front & rotating his arms for full 180 degrees but, he cannot bend down his head….
Bio Rider’s crotch articulations works exactly like BLACK & BLACK RX Renewal, he can’t do gymnastic split pose. But, recreating high kick pose is still pretty easy task to do however, to make Bio’s standing himself with this pose is much harder than the trio BLACKs…
Much like Bio, MacJabber also designed to be sleeker because it has a curvy & oval shaped body design. It looked slightly bulkier than Roboizer on the front but, on the back looked to be more smaller, especially when you look it in a bird view. Like Roboizer, MacJabber’s paintjob is perfect, I spot no paint transfer or bleeds. Unlike the rest of the bikes, MacJabber’s lights are painted instead of transcluent material.
However, a friend told me that the coloring on the red front lights/eyes positions aren’t accurate enough to the show. To be frank MacJabber’s got a very funny looking body, I think I can understand why they didn’t show it again in the rest of the episodes. Articulations works same like the trio Hoppers, no need to describe on this one again.
Bio Rider’s only weapon part is his signature Bio Blade! Bio Blade is formed from the left side of his body. The sculpt is quite splendid & true to the show, I liked the way they put the white lining with red dot paint on it & loving the details of the blade’s line sculpt. Unlike Revolcane, it doesn’t comes with extra blade part consisting the plain silver one. Funny, because Bio Blade’s light saber can also turned to be a normal blade, it even appeared numerously. Beside Bio Blade, Bio Rider doesn’t wield other weapon but, he got other attacks such as “Bio Kick” & his unique attack Gel Form. Of course, Bandai never forget themselves to not create effect parts for all SHF BLACK series.
Bio Rider was included with extra 12 hands in total but, 2 of them were included in MacJabber. From the box of he got fistful hands for the default one, the extras are 2 pair of variant grasping hand for holding the Bio Blade, a pair of open splayed hands, a pair of open splayed hands with gesturing 2 fingers, a pair of attached open hands like a chop, & a pair of grasping hand for holding MacJabber’s handlebars. Gesturing 2 fingers & chop hand were meant to recreate his trademark pose during introducing showing his arm’s choreography & a scene where he’s transforming into Gel Form, the rest… I think you can already tell how to use them from the pictures, ya? 1 pair Grasping hand parts came from MacJabber & both hands got a slight brighter blue color tone compare to the rests…
MacJabber’s only accessories is none than it’s only clear colored wheel stand display to maintain the position… Unlike Robo, Bio can ride it nicely but, to make him riding it tooked me for almost 5 minutes.
COMPARISON BETWEEN TRIO BLACKS
Bio appeared to be as tall as the rests of the Blacks but, Bio’s chest looked bulkier compare to his predecessors. However, his arms, hands, crotch & legs are sure bulkier than both Blacks. As you can see, Bio got a fabric details sculpt just like BLACK & BLACK RX due to his sleeker design. You can read my BLACK, BLACK RX Renewal, & Robo review here, here, & here. The review also includes their respective bikes. Also, it appears that Bio’s hand sculpt got the exact mold as BLACK RX Renewal Ver.’s hand sculpt but, they’re colored blue.
COMPARISON BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL VERSION
Comparing to the original counterpart, this SHF turned out to be made very faithful to the show. Although, there’s always a slight differences from them but, not a big deal for me.
I loved this actually, although he didn’t turned out as I expected quite much. I didn’t regret myself buying these guys, & I don’t think he needs a renewal version since he already looks perfect as in the show. Now, just waiting for my last worthless Renewal ShadowMoon & Ridron. Again, Bio & MacJabber didn’t come with their Saban’s Masked Rider, Super Blue (their US Counterpart series) release, the US release only included with Bluefin’s stickers while the box remains the original franchise. Well, they knew US series won’t become a big sells since the show received alot of negative reviews.
