Did I said I will complete all 765 pro’s idols? Yes, now off from reviewing SHF figures temporarily, now I will do another Figma figure review! The character is Hibiki Ganaha, the energetic girl & a talented dancer!! Hibiki used to be an idol from 961 Production. She has the role of a rival idol to 765 Production in the game THE iDOLM@STER SP: Perfect Sun. But, Hibiki eventually joined 765 Production during the events of THE iDOLM@STER 2nd Vision. She is voiced by Manami Numakura. However, in the anime Hibiki already joined as an idol from 765 production, it is unknown whether Hibiki used to work in 961 production or not it doesn’t explain at all. Hibiki comes from Okinawa (which explains her tan skin). Because she is from Okinawa, she sometimes can’t control her dialect, and often uses words that confuse people, for example “Nankurunaisa” (we can work it all out) and “Haisai” (hi there). She takes rivalry seriously, but she has a very friendly nature, and sometimes she unconsciously tries to make friends with others. Hibiki is also known to be extremely talented in dancing. She is revealed to have come alone from Okinawa to become an idol. Right, enough for her introductions… Time to review the figma… Hibiki’s box was designed very identical to Chihaya ones but overally colored plain cyan & black under the window box, another new format box style for every figma product with 200 number series above & it is my 2nd collection to have this box style. The product number is 228 & it’s a regular release. Hibiki also comes with the exact accessories as Chihaya did but, she’s included with extra part exclusively for her.
Accessories includes microphone, speaker and lighting equipment, 2 extra face plates, Hamuzou, Stand Set, Interchangeable hand, & Distage unit.
Excluding her boots, Hibiki’s stage outfit is very different to Chihaya but, they’re coloured the same to fit with the group. Hibiki one is shown to be dominantly glossy light blue to pinkish on her vest, & pants, pink for the wrist bands, lines, & belt, light pink on the boots. She also got gold colored diamonds on her outfit, including her belt & the buckles, necklace, & wristbands. Unlike Chihaya, her paintjob are quite nice but, there are still some slight paint bleeds on several part… She’s also made from PVC material, so she’s light.
Hibiki’s face also referenced strongly from her anime counterpart & like every standard figmas, she’s included with 3 variable face parts, pictures above. She’s mostly depicted as energetic girl so, I have to admit that all of her faces are very fitting. She’s usually seen showing her cheerful smile & friendly wink expressions in the show, same goes to her shouting expression when she’s looking on her lost animals like Hamuzou. However, her cheerful smile’s eyes are shown she’s looking on the left, so… She’s mostly perfect for the left angle photoshoots, to make her looking to the camera view. Hibiki’s irises are dark blue with standard blue & cyan, I’m also loving on how GSC faithfully made her fangs on her open mouth like in the show. Hibiki’s hair color are black with dark blue-ish, she also got 2 pair of hair strands/antennas just like my Kuroyukihime’s hair strands.
Hibiki’s sculpt work looks nicely made, I’m loving her pants details which also got sculpted pocket. Her ponytail also sculpted very nice but, there’s no shading on her hair which she looks slightly plain. Her diamond things are also wonderfully made. They didn’t even miss the belt’s holes & buckler, & she also got the exact boots like Chihaya. But from all of her sculpt, I especially adore her midriff because it’s sculpted very intense & she looked so seducing &… Look at that midriff & her back!! XD From all of girl’s parts, they’re my favorites after hair & faces. Overall paintjob is nice, the only paint bleeds I spotted is on one of her 2nd diamond’s from her thigh on the right leg. On the front view, you can see that her gold paint of her diamond bleeds to her pants. Other than that, she’s fine I think GSC did not disappoint me this time. Articulations works almost the same like other figmas but, unlike Chihaya who wear skirt Hibiki can move her legs freely. Now, let’s take a look on how her articulation works.
Hibiki got a movable ponytail, I can move her hair to the back & rotate it for 180 degrees. GSC really did it again! It’s a nice feature for Hibiki, we can recreate Hibiki’s emotional hair flowing. However, the joint kinda freaks me out.
Thanks to her ponytail hair, I can rotate her head 360 degrees & bend down & up freely. She can also stretch his waist to the back very smoothly.
I can also swivel Hibiki’s waist but, kinda limited due to her pants obstacled the articulation. But, I can swivel her chest part completely 360 degrees. I can also bend her chest to the side but, not really much…
Elbow articulations could also make her do the crossed arm pose nicely. Like Chihaya, she didn’t have butterfly joints but, she could do close hug arms quite deeper than Chihaya.
we can create many dynamic pose for her. Since she’s not wearing a skirt, she can move her legs more dynamic. Her knee joints also quite hideable, & elbow articulations works the same like other figmas, she can even bend her elbow much deeper than SHF these day. We can also bend her chest to the front & rotating her arms full 360 degrees.
Well, gymnastic split pose are very possible to do… I can actually recreate high kick pose for her but, I’m having problem with her high heeled boots to balance her body. I’m going to need her display stand for sure. I can also move her wrists up & down.
A microphone, eh? & it’s exactly the same as Chihaya one as well so, no need to tell much then. You can check on my Figma Chihaya Review on how to use them.
God… Speaker & Lighting with a clear colored peg joints for their peg hole joints & a standard clear checkered clear blue colored di:stage? I have a feeling, they will include these to all Idols… But, now that I owned 2 di:stage unit, I can merge it with Chihaya’s di:stage unit as well… Wonder how wide the stage field, if they really include this to all idols & merge them all….
Behind you, darling…
….. You’re kind of amazing Hamuzou…
Well… It won’t be good if Hibiki didn’t have her close friends animals named Hamuzou, he is an unarticulated small part. With this we can recreate their poses from the anime & interestingly, Hibiki seems to understand completely what he’s trying to say…
Now, this is something new for me! Hibiki got a latest wrist joints just like Play Arts Kai did, which the ball jointed wrists that made her looked weird. GSC still incorporates them with peg jointed style like their previous works but with different format. Unfortunately, atleast from my personal experience they’re like a smaller version of PAK’s wrist joints, they’re hard to swap even some of the hand parts couldn’t be inserted properly. I’m having trouble on removing her hands, because whenever I tried to pull out her hands her wrist joints also got plucked out than her hands instead. So, to think… I still kinda fond with the old fashioned hands, I know that hinge joints looks weird but, I think they’re way better than that visible looking ball jointed. Okay, to her hands! From the box, she’s already attached to her outstretched wide open palm, the extras are a pair of peace sign of hands, a pair of fistful hands, a pair of proximate outstretched palm, & a pair of holding hand parts. Wow, a peace sign hands? Atleast she got something that I do not own from all of my figma collections. Guess you already know how to use the rests of her hands, right? & unlike the old fashioned hands, the hands are now having a peg hole instead of peg joints to insert.
Fortunately, if you think that ball jointed hands makes her looks funny, you can actually move her wristbands to cover the wrist joints. You can even remove them from her hands & you can recreate her barehanded version. Yet, another very nice cast-off feature from GSC.
They also included an articulated figma display stand for Hibiki.
COMPARISON BETWEEN CHIHAYA
Hibiki is shorter than Chihaya. Hibiki’s height is revealed to be 152cm while, Chihaya is to be 162 cm. Strange that both of them shares the same age which is 16 but, their height is 1o cm different. Oh, well… Not really a big deal since people’s growth are not always the same.
Surprisingly, Chihaya & Hibiki can shares their hands eventhough they got different styled joints. Because, both got peg hole joints on their wrists so, they can be swapped together.
Hibiki’s face can also be shared to Chihaya as well! It fits perfectly to Chihaya but, it’s too bad that Chihaya’s faceplates looks weird on Hibiki’s hair, since Chihaya’s faceplates are slightly longer from her forhead. Also, Hibiki’s eyes are blue while Chihaya are brown but, I think I can handle with digitized edits.
Very satisfying I must say, I did not regret myself getting her compare to Chihaya but, strangely… I’m not that hype on her compare when I got my Chihaya one (despite her paintjob kinda disappoint me). Actually, Hibiki is a decent one, even better than Chihaya imho. Maybe I’m so excited when I got my Chihaya at that time or… Since most of Hibiki’s accessories consist the exact accessories as Chihaya. Oh, well… This is a highly recommended figma for me since she’s also fun to play, even better than Chihaya since she got extra Hamuzou part. Now, Miki Hoshii is currently on announcements since last year but, there’s no news anymore on her now… Even her prototype isn’t shown in Wonder Festival 2015. I hope GSC would create the whole idols soon.
- Very intense sculpt work.
- Perfectly accurate to the anime counterpart.
- Very fitting accessories but…
- Can move her legs even better than Chihaya since she’s wearing a pants.
- Alot of nice features given to her such as removable wristbands & swappable hands to the old fashioned figmas & also the complex ponytail articulation.
- Slight paint bleeds.
- Swapping the hands are hard.
- Too much identical accessories like Chihaya but, to recreate the whole idol scenes, meh.
Uhm… Did your Dinozord, Thunderzord, & Ninjazord doesn’t count as your ride?
Yeah, right… Teenager with attitude…
OUCH… That’s gotta hurt so badly….
R.I.P. Bio Rider & Sailor Saturn.
