Now, still about my travel in Japan! Visiting Akihabara & Nakano Broadway!! Akihabara is a district in the Chiyoda ward of Tokyo, Japan. Akihabara is considered by many to be an otaku cultural center and a shopping district for video games, anime, manga, and computer goods. Icons from popular anime and manga are displayed prominently on the shops in the area, and numerous maid cafes are found throughout the district. This sounds very interesting, especially to those who loves Anime, manga, figures, & computers just like me!! However, I’m different that I do not considered myself an Otaku freaks.
To access Akihabara, you’ll need to go to the Akihabara Stations by taking JR East: Keihin-Tohoku Line, Yamanote Line & Chuo-Sobu Line or Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line or maybe taking Tsukuba Express of Metropolitan Intercity
Railway Company Lines.
Wow… So many buildings & stores… This is definitely one of my favorite places in the world… & We came too early so, the cafe’s still closed. We visits many kinds of stores but, mostly… Figure & toy stores.
We played but, not quite much… Gashapon or claw vending machine wasn’t my kind of place to visit but, my sister in law wanted to go in. Our next visits is Kotobukiya!
Yeah, so many toys, figures, & merchandise sold in here. Kotobukiya also got bunch of Ghibli anime’s merchandise etc, there’s 1 that interest me but, I couldn’t afford to buy it thanks to their expensive prices.
Since I’m starting to interest on Idolmaster 765 pro, these merchandise caught my attention to see. Though, I didn’t buy any of them. On the display they got Haruka, Chihaya, Yayoi, & why there’s Superman? Weird combinations… In here Haruka really piqued my interest, she looks very cute & attractive to see. Again, I didn’t buy her since she’s godlessly expensive & she’s only available for this display… & statue isn’t my choice to get in Japan.
Of course, we get to see alot of Cu-Poche figures displayed & sold in here since they’re produced by Kotobukiya. Hmm… They looked pretty nice, the interesting thing from Cu-Poche is, they also sold separable body which we can headswap them & fabric clothes for them, you can see that several display showed them wearing clothes & using different body than they should use. Although they sounds too girlish to me, I don’t know if I want to buy them but, I have no interest on them at this moment because I’m still focussing other lines like Figma & SHF. But, Cu-Poche line already got several members of Idolmaster 765 pro’s idols like Haruka, Miki, Yukiho, Hibiki, & they’re about to release Chihaya as well. Which actually gives me a dilemma since I’m still focussing on the figmas but, only Chihaya & Hibiki that was released by far. Figma Miki is still on TBA status since last year but, there’s no prototype shown until now. GSC is too busy on making & remaking Cinderella Girls & they’re also making Love Live series.
Zoids? Hmm… Very little knowing them but, their display are freaking badass!! They really caught my eyes to see!!
Yes, Metal Gear Solid!! Most of the products displayed are all from Kotobukiya, even Play Arts Kai as well. & my new haul is Figma Solid Snake in Akihabara!! We had alot of nice sight seeing other places in Akihabara but, too bad we didn’t spend whole day & even took more photos… Oh, and by the way, Snake will be my next review.
Our next destinations is Nakano Broadway! Where I want to go to Nakano Store of Mandarake. Before that you’ll have to access into Nakano Station by taking Chuo Main Line, & Tokyo Metro Tozai Line.
Like Akihabara, Nakano is also one of a place in Tokyo where we can spend our pennys for shopping but, Nakano wasn’t a big place for Anime or Otaku lovers. They mostly got convenient stores like clothing, merchandise, fastfoods, & restaurants. The interesting thing from Nakano is the place got a glass roofs, so no worries to travel the place when it’s raining.
Perhaps, Mandarake Nakano is the biggest Mandarake stores, the website said that Nakano store is their main store. No, the photos shown above are only several of the stores, they actually got different kinds of stores like figures, toys, dolls, merchandise, manga, anime, & AV. Well, let’s take a look on the map then:
Yes, if you feel lost on what you’re looking, you can always see this. & too bad that we couldn’t spend more time in there, thanks to another scheduling. So, we only visited several stores & we didn’t even had a chance to take more pictures. But atleast, I got a new haul in there:
Microman… Very unexpected for me to get these, right? Yup, these 2 will also be in my next review & why I’m getting these? Because… I’ll tell you on the review it’s a long stories so, stay tuned!
