What’s up, guys? Today’s review is just for fun because, it was once again a custom figure. Here, I’m gonna review Figma: Player Girl.
Before that, if you’re a Miku Hatsune fans and don’t like this then I suggest to stay away from this review, this is a custom review not an official existing figure. First up, who is Player Girl? In short, she’s a genderswap of Road Rash Player character, a fan made character by me. This figure is a mixed between 2 Figmas, which is Racing Miku 2014: EV MIRAI ver. and Suruga Kanbaru. Well, since this is a fun review I’m going to skip the introduction because Player Girl act pretty much the same like the Player character in the classic Sega Road Rash video game series. Her box was actually a Figma Racing Miku 2014: EV MIRAI ver. which she has the box designed simillar like the current Figma series above 200 numbering, Miku’s box was printed pale pink color and black with several promotional photos of the product with informations mainly written in Japanese, and inside the box there’s a turquoise colored inner tray paper. The turqouise colored box depicts Miku’s hair color and several of her design color and there’s a logo of Racing Miku 2014: EV MIRAI ver. Her product number is 250, making her as a standard release. But, inside the box the figure was repainted differently and she’s nolonger Miku anymore since she got headswapped! Time to unbox her again….
Inside the box, Player Girl comes up with 3 alternate faceplates, 1 helmet, 1 shift body part and 6 alternate hands with 1 extra wrist joint.
Player Girl is a repainted version of Figma Racing Miku 2014: EV MIRAI ver.’s body so, she sports the same getup of armored clad bikini rider theme like Miku. Player Girl wears a white colored long sleeved short jacket which reveals her breast with her bikini, her jacket got dark blue colored shoulder pads, elbow pads, wristbands and her white gloves also got dark blue colored hand pads. Her jackets still retained Miku’s jacket’s logos as well as the pink colored line underneath jacket and gray colored underneath collar, on the begining I planned to remove all of that but, I realized it’d be boring if just plain white and blue so I decided to keep them on. Her overall bikini is white with dark blue top lining and gray colored motives on her pants. Like Miku, Player Girl also sports a white colored loose belt which strapped on her thighs, the belt and thigh straps were repainted dark blue as well as her pouch was repainted into black. Yeah, reasons to change because I don’t like the only white color on her design even that small printed logos didn’t helped to piqued my interest to keep them on. Her undersleeved boots are still black colored like Miku but, her white colored boots got slight dark blue repaint on the straps and her shoes also repainted black and dark blue on the pads. Yeah, it’s a slight repaint but, imo it’s more than enough to change that Miku’s plain looking design. The first plan was to have her white jacket and boots completely repainted all black but, the customizer don’t have a good paintapps that able to maintain the repainted part of the joints. Player Girl also got the same articulations style like other figmas so, you can do part swapping without any worries. The materials are mostly made from PVC and ABS, and she got approximately 25 points of articulations.
Player Girl’s default head was actually a headswap from Figma Suruga Kanbaru’s head and her skin color perfectly matched to Miku’s skin color. The name of Player Girl was actually came from I have no idea what’s the best name for her but, you may name her yourself just like how you can set the Player’s name in Road Rash video game. However, since the head is a swap from Suruga so, you may call her as Suruga Kanbaru Rider but, I’m keeping myself to call her Player Girl because I tried to make a different character. Okay, Player Girl got dark blue purple-ish short hair that stands to her jacket collar and she was given 3 kinds of faceplates. First is her standard smile expression, it’s a general faceplates that all humanoid figures given. Her smile is shown like a cheerful tomboy-ish girl which kinda reminds me of Sakura Kasugano from Street Fighter. 2nd is a closed eyes expression to show how she gets slightly annoyed or irritated when people looking at her revealing getup. 3rd, a shocked expression to show how shocked she is when she get busted by cops but, it can be also works for something else. And 4th is her furious expression to show how pissed she is when dealing some annoying other riders or cops but, it was actually a faceplate of Suruga’s Rainy Devil’s form. Player Girl’s eyes are dark brown colored with light brown shade color, it’s pretty much like depicting she is an Asian teenager. Well, Suruga is a Japanese high school girl lol… Player Girl also comes with her own helmet which was Miku’s helmet in fact. Her helmet was fully repainted into glossy dark blue because I don’t the flashy looking of Miku’s helmet lol. The helmet can be use for her to either wear it or hold it, the joint can be hidden pretty good thanks to the newly ball joint but, in order to pull out the peg joint again you’ll have to use a hook given by GSC to pull out the peg. With the new ball jointed head, when wearing helmet her head can move more dynamic compared to her default head. Well, it’s because Suruga’s head was still given with old joint since Suruga was released somewhere in 2011, while this Miku was released in 2014. The overall paintapp was done very clean although some of Suruga’s faceplates suffers a little minor miss paint on her mouth but, it’s not a big deal since it doesn’t occur her looks that much for me the same goes to her repainted helmet which was done pretty smooth. The repaint of the helmet & some detailings were done by Ridho.
Player Girl is a teen girl with slender proportions and flat chested, infact Miku was a flat chested girl. Player Girl’s approximate age is around 16 or 17. Her jacket’s vest, pants and belt was made from a semi soft material but, some part was done very soft to help her posing more dynamic. Her clothing was sculpted pretty nice and loving the small details they did on her. The paintjob is also looking good and clean even on the repainted parts so far, I don’t spot any defected part. Player Girl looked more badass with her helmet’s on for sure!
Player Girl got rotatable head 360 degrees.
We can also bend her head and chest to the side, up and down.
We can swivel her chest and waist 360 degrees perfectly nice.
She can do crossing arm pose nicely although, not fully perfect pose since there’s no butterfly joint that allows us to make her crossing her arms….
Player’s articulations was done pretty standard like other Figmas so, we can create any dynamic pose on her. The only problem’s bugging her movement is mainly on her loose belt, they can be pretty annoying for her left leg movement and the worse part the pouch would detach from the straps easily.
She can move her arms, wrists up and down to the side pretty dynamic like other figmas and her high kick pose is looking good as well.
We can also make a crouching pose pretty natural and she can do 2 sitting pose which is looking good but, in cross legged sitting pose her loose belt would obstacle her left leg movements so, I need to pull of the pouch and put the belt hole to the back of her body.
Player Girl also comes up with shift body part, it’s an alternate torso which got bended waist/belly. The use of this is for Miku’s riding her own bike which is Figma EX:Ride Spride 06 – TT-Zero 13 which I’m not interested to buy it so, I decided to pass that and buy my own bike for her and her bike is way too expensive now. In order to attach the part, you’ll have to pop off her upper body, and her 2 legs from her default torso then reattach them into her alternate torso. Her shift body got 2 pegs underneath her knee joints that must be remove first. After that attach the figure onto her bike but, without her bike I can still make my own pose for her. The articulations of her when using shift body works pretty much the same, with the exception of the unarticulated crotch so, it’s kinda let down if I want to do some certain pose for her. However, I like the stability of this shift body because she’s not easily fall. The overall sculpt work looks good, I love how they meticulously sculpted Miku’s crotch details and her paintapp also looks crisp.
Player Girl comes up with total 8 option hand parts. In Miku’s case, out from the box Miku was already attached with fistful hands. In here, open splayed hands became Player Girl’s default hands, the extras are 1 pair of fistful hands for like recreating some punching moves or any other kind of posing you wish to recreate, 1 pair of hand grip for riding her bike or also for holding her vest revealing her boobs, 1 hand grip with 1 open pointy finger right hand for alternate way of gripping the handlebars and open wide left hand for holding her helmet or other kind of posing. All hands are sculpted decently and the pads were repainted into dark blue as well.
Player Girl is shorter than Archetype-She Next so, this means Miku is the shortest compared to these 2. If with Meiko I maybe understand since Meiko is Miku’s older sister but, shorter than Archetype-She Next is a bit disappointing but, I’m still fine with this. Player Girl’s skin color is slightly yellow-ish compared to Meiko’s pale skin but, Archetype-She Next is slightly more orange than Player Girl.
Yep, so far pretty satisfied despite the simplicity of the custom but, more than enough to recreate a Road Rash parody I think. All I can say is, Miku’s body is pretty attractive and the revealing design is really my kind of figure despite her flat chest and Suruga’s head also made this design looks fittable. However, this review is only meant to share my personal custom figure but, If you don’t like it I don’t understand why you’re still here. But 1 thing you should know, this review are not meant to offense about Miku Hatsune or Suruga Kanbaru.
